Mammoth Cave
I wanted to write a quick thank you to everyone at The Travel Store for helping us make our Atlanta field trip such a terrific experience! We LOVE The Travel Store!!!
So named because of its extensive labyrinth of caverns, underground rivers and formations, Mammoth Cave National Park is an ideal location for earth science and geology related studies. A wide variety of tours are available to student groups, led by National Park Service rangers. To round out this overnight field trip, several other cave visits may be planned to include the Lost River in Bowling Green and Raccoon Mountain just west of Chattanooga. For those wishing to delve into the wealth of United States history, we suggest Tennessee�s capital city, Nashville. A guided tour of the Hermitage, Andrew Jackson�s mansion, will bring the challenges and accomplishments of our 12th President to life. In conjunction, students will enjoy a guided walking tour of downtown Nashville including a visit to the Capitol Building.
