Q.C.C.-GPS Objectives ~ Curriculum Packages
With your field trip confirmation materials, we will provide you with a description of the Georgia GPS objectives which your field trip satisfies. Also, every group will receive a packet containing teaching and preparatory materials prior to the field trip. We believe that in order to maximize the educational benefits of your field trip it is essential to prepare students for the important sites which they will be visiting. Additionally, we maintain a comprehensive library which we will be happy to make available on a “loaner” basis to supplement your curriculum.
Alternative Classroom Environment (A.C.E.) - In order to achieve the greatest possible educational benefit, we have designated our Coastal Islands field trip to be offered with an "A.C.E." option. Under this option, we will arrange a visit to your classroom prior to your field trip. This advance preparation will provide your students with an introduction and orientation designed to familiarize your students and peak their interest for each important aspect of your field trip. Kathy will accompany your group on the field trip to provide the students with an exceptional "alternative classroom" experience.
Due to the nature of this program, the A.C.E. option will be available on a limited basis to groups which number between 30 and 50 students. Through the A.C.E. program, we are committed to providing the maximum opportunity for an invigorating and challenging educational experience to highly motivated groups.
Travel Coordinators - The members of our team who accompany your field trip are well educated, seasoned professionals from a wide variety of fields who share one thing in common; they enjoy being around children. Motor coaches - Your group will travel in comfort and style on late model coaches staffed by experienced, knowledgeable, student-friendly drivers. The prices shown herein always include motor coaches. Restaurants - We know that children (and big people too!) travel healthier and happier when they eat well. All overnight trips provide full hot breakfasts. Lunch and dinner menus are designed to be nutritious and well balanced. All eating establishments retained by The Travel Store have scored 90 or better on their most recent inspection. Hotels - We only employ well situated, conveniently located hotels and coordinate room assignments to minimize check-in time. We make every effort to insure that your rooms are assigned to allow you the best possible supervision of your students. Itineraries - We encourage you to choose which venues best serve your educational objectives. Of course, we are happy to advise you based on our experience. We handle all advance scheduling of dates, sites, meals and times. Optional Trip Cancellation Insurance will be made available to individuals for overnight field trips. Organizational and parent orientation meetings - We will gladly attend such meetings as you deem necessary. We handle all advance deposits and payments on behalf of your group and offer liberal deposit and payment policies. $4,000,000 comprehensive insurance policy covers all of our trips. Additionally, all of our Travel Coordinators are covered by our Georgia Workmen's Compensation Policy.
